  • Dear Friends,

The High Holidays are a time when many of us feel especially connected to our Jewish selves. Whether you come to shul just for the High Holidays or every Shabbat, our goal is that everyone in the community, regardless of Jewish affiliation and background, feels welcome at Chabad.

The tragic events in Israel since 10/7 have deeply affected us all. We mourn the loss of life and pray for the safety of our brothers and sisters. We are also painfully aware of the rising tide of antisemitism around the world. These challenges remind us of the importance of standing together as a community, drawing strength from our faith and unity. Let us remember that Am Yisrael Chai - the People of Israel live - and it is our duty to stand together as one.

As we prepare to welcome the new year, Rosh Hashanah, it is a time for introspection, renewal, and hope. We reflect on the past year, seeking to learn from our experiences, and look forward to the coming year with optimism and faith. The blowing of the Shofar serves as a powerful reminder of our connection to Hashem and our commitment to live by His commandments, bringing light and goodness into the world. At Chabad of Southlake, we are committed to standing at the forefront of combating antisemitism by being that light for our community and for all around us to see. We will never back down from this goal, no matter what the world hurls at us.

Chabad of Southlake relies on local donations to provide programs and services to the community. Your support enables us to offer a wide range of activities for all ages, from educational classes to holiday celebrations. This season, as we fulfill the sacred obligation of Tzedakah, your generosity allows us to support the needs of our community and ensure Jewish life thrives in our area.

Thank you for your ongoing support. We look forward to celebrating the High Holidays together and wish you a year filled with blessings, health, and happiness. May we all be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year of peace and prosperity.

Wishing you a Shanah Tovah u'Metukah - a happy and sweet new year.

    Rabbi Levi & Rishi Gurevitch
